How can I get the smell of cigarettes out of a leather bag?

My friend gave me a leather bag of Nice and can not wait to use it. The only problem is that unleashes such as cigarettes. How can I safely remove the smell?

Air it out for a week or so. I found a nice shirt from a thrift store but smelled of cigarettes. I stayed outside for a week (it rained on it too) and the smell was completely gone. Its still going too! But considering its a leather bag just make sure it doesn't get rained on. I've also done this with a shirt that whivh onlnie it was a bad smell in the house of the people in it.
